I didn’t know that there were so many different types of stores and what each one meant. Some give people money for their clothes, some donate to charity…. I had no idea… I didn’t know what each store title meant.
Store Types
I also didn’t realize how much waste is created by Americans each year.
Waste Statistics

It was really hard to find stuff about my topic. I was interested to learn that there were so many different kinds of stores. I really didn’t know what was behind the type of store that it is. I really liked reading a lot of the blogs that I found. It was nice to hear people that share the same feelings and love for old things that I do.

Now that i’ve read some of you outside information I think that your topic is really interesting and you could do a lot with it. I thought that the site you linked to about the different kinds of stores was awesome. Thrift stores, flea shops, etc. Have you had experiences with all of these types of stores? When you walk into a store like that do you ever get frustrated or do you find it inspiring and amazing. It would be interesting to get to hear what draws you to stores like this instead of stores like BEBE, and Hollister (just picked these because everyone knows them). I think that your topic is one that a lot of people really don’t know about, and could make people aware of things that are still old and have meaning behind them.

I like you “fun fact” about americans and waste but did you find a percentage? I would be intersted in seeing that. Also I am unsure of what the first picture is supposed to be about. I like the picture of the key but how does it relate to your topic?

Amy–
It sounds like both Stacey and Katrina are picking up on the unusual aspects of your topic–and both want to know even more about your personal experiences! What are the statistics on waste in America and how does that add to your interest in “old things”? Is it all old things–old clothes, old furniture, old cars, old food–or just some old things? Is there a name for your resolution not to buy anything new?
